Cantina Character Studio

Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 8, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how the Cantina Character Studio creator program collects, uses, and handles information you provide when you join through joincharacterstudio.com. By submitting the join form, you consent to the practices described below. See "Program operator" below for the entities responsible for the program.

Messaging program

The disclosures in this section describe what you agree to when you check the email consent box on the join form or in your portal.

  • How to opt in. Submit the form at joincharacterstudio.com with the required consent checkbox checked. This is the sole opt-in method — we do not enroll email addresses from any other source, and we do not import addresses from third-party lists.
  • What you receive. Program emails: program news, account and support messages, and offers.
  • Text messages. Every text from us is a verification code you asked for, sent when you verify your phone or sign in. We do not run a recurring or promotional text program.
  • Message and data rates may apply. Your mobile carrier may charge you for sending or receiving that code, depending on your plan. Contact your carrier with questions about charges.
  • How to get help. Email ops.characterstudio@cantina.ai.
  • Carrier disclaimer. Wireless carriers (including AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, US Cellular, Rogers, Bell, Telus, and others) are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
  • No sharing of contact data. We do not sell, rent, share, or transfer your mobile phone number, email address, or consent records to any third party or affiliate for marketing or promotional purposes — including advertising platforms, affiliate partners, and third-party data brokers.

Information we collect

When you submit the join form, we collect:

  • Phone number — used as a unique identifier, to send you a verification code when you verify your phone or sign in, and for TCPA-compliant record-keeping.
  • Email address — used to deliver program emails (when you opt in) and coordinate your participation.
  • Consent record — a timestamp captured at the moment you check the consent box, used as an audit record of your opt-in.
  • Attribution data — marketing source parameters (UTM source, campaign, referrer, tracking link ID, landing path) included in the URL when you arrive at our site, used to understand which recruitment channels bring creators to the program.
  • Program activity — email delivery, open, and click events tracked through our email service provider; SMS delivery status events tracked through our SMS service provider.

How we use your information

  • Send program emails and lifecycle communications, when you've opted in to receive them.
  • Route you to the Cantina app so you can begin creating and participating in the program.
  • Measure which recruitment channels and campaigns are producing active creators, so we can improve the program.
  • Respond to your questions if you reply to our messages.
  • Maintain records required by applicable laws including the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), CAN-SPAM, and Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).

How we share your information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your information. We do not share your contact details with third parties for their own marketing purposes. Mobile phone numbers and consent records are never shared with third parties or affiliates for any reason.

We share information only with service providers who help us operate the program, and only to the extent they need to perform their function:

  • Cantina — the platform where creators make videos. We match your phone and email with a Cantina account so you can access the program.
  • Resend — email delivery provider.
  • Twilio — SMS delivery provider.
  • NeverBounce — email-address validation at form submit.
  • Convex — backend database and functions.
  • Vercel — web hosting.
  • Meta, Reddit, and TikTok — conversion signals (e.g. that a page view or sign-up happened) sent back to these ad networks via standard pixels so we can measure and optimize our ads. No personally identifying data is sent to them.

Your choices

  • Email. Every email includes an unsubscribe link in the footer, and Gmail and Apple Mail show a native Unsubscribe prompt at the top of our messages. Unsubscribing stops program emails. Sign in codes still arrive when you request one, since the portal needs them.
  • SMS. Every text from us is a verification code you asked for. Stop requesting codes and the texts stop.
  • Delete your account. Open the help menu in the portal and choose Delete my account. This removes your sign in, linked social accounts, tracked posts and program records. Payment records stay on file for tax purposes with your name and email removed. Deletion waits until any pending earnings have paid out.
  • Your Cantina app account. Your Cantina account and the characters you made there are separate from this program. To delete those, delete your account in the Cantina app or email privacy@cantina.ai.
  • Access a copy. Email ops.characterstudio@cantina.ai to request a copy of the information we have about you, or if you want us to run the deletion for you. We respond within 30 days.

Data retention

We retain your information for as long as you are enrolled in the program. If you unsubscribe, we keep your email address and the time you unsubscribed so we can honor it. If you delete your account, we keep a scrambled version of your email, phone and Cantina id that cannot be turned back into the original, so we never add you again, plus payment records with your identity removed. Attribution and program analytics are retained in aggregate form.

Message and data rates

Message and data rates may apply to the verification code text sent to or received from our program, depending on your mobile carrier and plan. Contact your carrier if you have questions about charges.

Security

We use industry-standard practices to protect your information in transit and at rest, including TLS encryption for all API traffic and access controls on our backend database. No system is perfect; we work to address issues promptly when identified.

Eligibility

The program is currently available only to residents of the United States and Canada. By joining, you confirm that you are located in one of these countries and that you are at least 18 years old.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the program evolves. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent version. Material changes will be communicated through the program's email list.

Program operator

The Cantina Character Studio creator program is operated by Cantina, Inc.
